Retrofit Contractors, Coordinators, Designers needed in Manchester
Homes as Energy Systems is a European Regional Development Fund funded project in Greater Manchester that seeks to demonstrate how all homes could be transformed to become an active part of the UK’s energy system rather than a perpetual drain on it. By combining energy generation and storage technologies with insulation and other energy efficiency measures to reduce energy demand, we can cleverly generate household income to help to pay for the improvement works.
RetrofitWorks is working with 20 households to get their homes as near to zero carbon as possible, with a budget of £50k per property. This procurement covers works packages for two properties which requires suitably experienced and qualified contractors to design, supply and install energy efficiency measures. The works specification and general requirements that bidders must meet are listed in a Specification Document.
Bidders will need to complete a Pricing Document which contains indicative quantities and units of measure. Subject to detailed on-site surveys and evidence provided to RetrofitWorks, the successful Bidder may amend quantities but not the base cost for an item as tendered. Bidders will also need to provide written responses to the questions contained in the Invitation To Tender document. RetrofitWorks will assess and award each works package individually. Bidders may bid for multiple work packages. RetrofitWorks’ project manager will select the successful bidder for each work package based on a 50% price and 50% quality basis. Bidders that wish to apply can access tender documents by emailing haes.gm@retrofitworks.co.uk and documents will be issued to them. Completed tender submissions will be submitted as per the instructions in the tender pack.
