The scheme aims to improve the energy efficiency of low income homes by reducing their energy bills. We aim to deliver cost-effective carbon savings to carbon budgets and progress towards the UK’s target for net zero by 2050. By offering tailored support, advice, and access to funding for essential home improvements, ‘Your Home Better’ empowers residents to take control of their energy usage, creating healthier living environments and contributing to a greener future.

This scheme, part funded by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) is a pilot being led by Low Carbon Hub and National Energy Foundation and was launched to customers in April 2019. The RetrofitWorks delivery model is being used to bring together an organised supply chain made up of local organisations. Other partners include Local Authorities and marketing consultants.
From planning to implementation, we offer impartial advice and connect you with trusted contractors. While our Retrofit Coordinator team does not do the day-to-day project management of the retrofit project, they will guide you through every stage of the process, from start to finish.

East Sussex Warm Home Check
The East Sussex Warm Home Check service has been provided by RetrofitWorks and Citizens Advice (Advocate Member) since Nov 2018. The service offers advice and support to anyone who struggles to keep warm at home. Private residents on a low income may also qualify for a free home visit which includes:
Advice on getting help to pay for heating, An assessment of your home to identify how to keep warm, Small works such as improving insulation or repairing boilers, Emergency temporary heating, Installation of replacement boilers, central heating systems or home insulation is also possible subject to eligibility and limited availability of additional grants.
