Meet Russell Smith
Russell is a chartered civil engineer with years of experience in retrofitting and is the founder of RetrofitWorks.
He has run a number of large-scale retrofit programmes – most recently the £4.5m Warmer Homes programme on behalf of the Mayor of London, and is involved in a 250 heat pump roll-out for OVO energy. As MD of Parity Projects, he has worked with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority to build a model of their 1.5m homes, and a national retrofit model to support plans for a National Retrofit Programme for the Construction Leadership Council.

Our new heat pump, PV panels, and enhanced insulation have completely transformed our quality of life at home. We stay cosy throughout winter with the thermostat set to just 17 degree C. We’re glad to see the back of our aging gas boiler - the heat pump does a better job, with much lower carbon emissions.

I think if anybody was thinking about going to Cosy Homes Oxfordshire and talking to them about doing the whole house plan, I would absolutely say go for it. I’m not sure we could have done this without them.

I have had my heat pump for just a year now and am very pleased with it. My home is well insulated and I have solar panels, so I removed the gas meter (saving 150 pound on the standing charge). By using a solar battery and off peak overnight electricity my energy bills have dropped by half - now about 800 pound for a 4 bedroom detached with people in all day.
