Of Retrofitting Experience
Starting out Retrofitworks

Simon is a chartered construction manager with nearly 25 years of experience in the sustainable energy industry, the majority in the domestic retrofit space.
Starting at the front line of energy efficiency advice all those years ago, Simon has worked for local and regional authorities as well as on the contracting side to give a wide ranging and experienced view of how the energy landscape, with all it’s different parts and competing priorities fits together (or sometimes doesn’t!).
Simon has overseen local area-based insulation projects in the private sector, £12.5m estate-wide low rise retrofit projects for social housing, cross-sector energy saving partnerships, project management on low carbon skills and employment research, low carbon finance, CHP / district heating capacity building, technical and economic analysis of the low carbon neighbourhoods. With extra non-domestic experience in solar farms, commercial solar and grid batteries as well as ongoing involvement as board level on community energy organisations, Simon brings experience, insight and vision to Retrofit Works.
Cath Geoghegan began her career in the financial services industry, where she developed strong skills in strategic thinking and stakeholder engagement. Motivated by a passion for sustainability and social impact, she made a bold career shift, earning a Master’s in Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies from the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales.
Her move into the fuel poverty sector saw her working with local authorities in West Sussex, where she built valuable partnerships across health, social services, and energy providers, while deepening her expertise in energy efficiency and sustainable housing.
At RetrofitWorks, Cath has built an impressive track record of delivering high-quality retrofit projects in collaboration with local authorities and managing schemes that provide direct support to homeowners. Looking ahead, she is focused on expanding the company’s impact through digital innovation, sustainable practice, and strong, trusted industry relationships.
